In this article I will give my top 5 tips on how to choose the best candle so your 'cents' will buy you the ambiance you seek to create and gift the feeling of and magic in the air.
No matter what your lifestyle, anywhere from Inner City go-getters, boho babes a family living in the burbs and everyone in between. We are spending more than 2.3 Billion dollars a year on candles (not including Candle accessories) With 90% of those candle sales being women, it got me thinking, what it about a candles that sends us into a shopping frenzy that we often think twice about putting the ultimate unleaded fuel in our cars worth thousands of dollars but have no hesitation to drop a cool 50 bucks on a relatively short term gain? Scent!
Scent is one of the strongest senses linked to nostalgia. Simply by lighting the wick of scented candle we can make ourselves believe we are back in Hamilton Island sipping a cocktail at Sunset or a crisp winter afternoon by the
by the fire, visiting family in the mountains.
There is just something about the flicker of a candlelight in your lounge room on a Sunday arvo, on your back deck, entertaining friends or lighting the wick at sunrise with your favourite mediation playing through you-tube that evokes comfort and sets the tone of your space.
That little pot of scented wax will never fail to bring you back to you. Whether that be relaxed you, inspire you, sexy you or simply bringing you home to your bliss. Atmosphere is everything for us gals, and we are born with a natural instinct to create a beautiful one. We appreciate the sweet smells of pink peony's and wild roses, it takes us back to spring carnvial and we understand the appeal of sea salt caramels and warm vanilla beans. reminds us of winter's days rugged up in our favourite PJ's.There's a sense of nostalgia that comes with buying our favorite candle.

1. Who you are shopping for? What lights them up? Personality, lifestyle. What is important to them?
2. What mood are you trying to achieve?Calm, uplifting, comforting, rejuvenating, romantic. Where is the candle going to live?
3. What is the décor, colour pallet? Scandi, contemporary, classic, feminine, elegant or boho?
4. What is the candle made from? (non-toxic elements) What wax is used? Is it a blended? What is the wick made from? What oils are used in the content? Has it been tested on animals?
5. Where is the candle coming from? (Including how it has been made) Is it locally made? Fair trade, sustainable, recyclable. Where has the candle been sourced from? Being a self-confessed candle addict and listening to my loyal tribe of customers has helped me formulate the best recipe for candle making.

B. Natural ingredients (where possible) 100% soy wax and eco-friendly wooden wicks, with zero paraffin,! They are not only better for us but for the environment. Essential oils and quality fragrance oils that can be used on the body are the best…You can usually smell
a good quality candle (it doesn’t smell fake)
C. Vessels + Packaging- Look for candle’s that can be upcycled and recycled. That why the gift keep on giving long after the flame burns out
D. Locally made and sourced ethically and sustainable (for peace of mind)
